TLAKWA + SNEAKERKIT
These are finally something I can make and believe in. I like making them. I love figuring out how to art the patterns. I went to Viberg and showed them off to Glen and Brett. Immediately they were offering suggestion, which was empowering, they liked what I made! I use their leather so I wanted to at least show off them off. I use Tandy metal to detail the shoes, adding the tags and pulls, shoelace holes. I’ve ordered a bunch of Lacelabs laces and enjoy matching laces to each one. And my Dad, man, I know how much my Dad would have loved his pair. I just love using pieces of my Dad’s artwork and layering it on the pattern. My most recent pair, I am testing out edge beading on the tongue piece.

I have made two pairs and am working on the third. This first round is for fundraising for emerging writers.

ORIGINALS
Each shoe is its own original, never to be repeated usually. I have a very limited amount of “The Witness” print fabric left. The art I have on the brown leather shoes is from the logo my Dad made for UVic, I have one more full logo left of this one. And I just received some new fabric and am excited for the new creations!
Each sneaker takes about two days to cut and stitch together.
