Legends of the Hidden Temple

I had the honour of working with Costume Designer Ken Shapkin in building 11 Mayan warrior and Mayan Royal party costumes. Ken and I went to Los Angeles and rented pieces from Western Costume and Universal Costumes. We also went into the Fashion District and purchased fabrics and embellishments.

It was a great time creating the stone version and the live versions of both! Honoured this movie got nominated for a Leo, Best Costume Design in a Television Movie.

1491: The Untold Story of the Americas

I costume designed 21 drama sequences for this APTN/ZDF 8 x one-hour docudrama series based on the best-selling book by Charles C. Mann. The scenes are set in pre-contact Americas and shot in Peru, Mexico, USA and Canada in 2015.

Costumes built for the following indigenous tribes: Amazon, Anishnaabe, Artic/Inuit, Argentina, Aztec/Mayan/Yucatan, Blackfoot, Brazil, Cahokia, Chile, Clovis, Cree, Incan, Iroquois, Kwaguilth, Maidu, Nuuchahnulth, Peru, & Taos Pueblo

Custom creation and design for each vignette. Rentals from Western Costume Co., Universal Studios Costume Department, Costumes Period and ESpace.

Intuition Tour, Jamie Foxx

2009 – The 40-city tour kicked off on July 2 in Anaheim and ended in October.  I designed the opening number costume, a leather jacket, t-shirt, and pants.  The leather jacket was made in 5 colors and we made multiples on the pants and t-shirt.

BET Award Show

Honouring Michael Jackson

Thursday, June 25, 2009: I will always remember the day Michael Jackson died.  I was working with a fellow designer on a belt for the This Is It Tour and was scheduled for a fitting on that fateful day.  BET contacted me to recreate his iconic pieces for their show on Sunday.  Things went into full swing at 2:30 pm.

Friday, June 26, 2009: The zipper jacket is being created.  The Remember the Time gold pieces are being constructed.

Saturday, June 27, 2009: The zipper jacket is done.  The Remember the time outfit is being cut out.

Sunday, June 28, 2009: BET Award Show – live-television, LA Coliseum.  The sequin socks are being finished, and the gold-lamé body suit is being constructed.  Jamie Foxx’s suit gets altered minutes before he goes on-stage with Janet Jackson.

I recreated of the infamous zipper jacket, The Remember The Time video costume, the Billy Jean sequin slouch socks and tailoring a suit for host, Jamie Foxx. I made all these pieces in 3 days.  It was exhausting, it was exhilarating, it was an honour.
